While we have four standard pouch sizes which can be ordered efficiently on this page, you can always request a custom size. Let us know the dimensions of your product, and a packaging specialist will direct you to an appropriate bag size. *Hang holes, tear notches, and zippers are optional.
They're pretty much the same, except flat pouches usually have zippers. Sachets are smaller and have just a tear notch for single use (like wet wipe or a drink powder). You'll also hear the term "3-sided seal" (3SS). That's a pre-formed sachet sealed on 3 sides, with the fourth side left open for product insertie.

Yes, as they both go through the same printing and converting process. Quantity and SKU allotment are lead time drivers. The fastest option is roll stock, since we don't have to run it through the pouching and converting process.
That depends on the size of the pouch and the fill amount. We'd suggest getting some samples to test, while discussing the fill size of your product.
The Pouch House uses 3 stock materials for lay flat pouches. All materials are high-barrier with excellent moisture transmission rates (MTR) and oxygen transmission rates (OTR). For ultra-high barrier, go with our metallized film. If you need a special stock, let us know. We can either match or come up with a comparable structure that you have used previously.
Material | Structure | Barrier |
---|---|---|
4mil Metalized | 48gaMETPET/3.5mil LLDPE | MTR: <0.01 OTR: <0.01 |
3.5mil White | 48gaPET/ 3mil white EVOH | MTR: 0.063 OTR: 0.06 |
3.5mil Clear | 48gaPET/ 3mil clear EVOH | MTR: 0.063 OTR: 0.06 |
Here are some estimated fill weights with their correlating lay flat pouch sizes. These are estimations and will need to be confirmed by the customer for product suitability. Request a free sample kit to test if you are unsure of your pouch size.
Since different products (e.g., coffee, flour, nuts, liquids) have varying densities, these are estimated* volumes in fluid ounces (fl oz) and milliliters (mL) and fill weights based on an average dry product density (e.g., granules, powders at ~0.5 g/mL).
*The customer is responsible for testing and approving final size.
Pouch Size (width x height) | Fill Weight (g) | Volume |
